1.Product Introduction

 

The Limestone Crushing and Screening Line is a complete equipment system designed to progressively crush large limestone blocks and grade them into finished aggregates of various particle sizes. Characterized by high efficiency, stability, and high customizability, this production line is widely utilized in sand and gravel aggregate production, infrastructure construction, and concrete batching plants.

The entire line typically adopts a closed-circuit process—following the principle of "crushing first, screening second, and re-processing rejects"—to ensure that the final product has uniform grain size and meets strict engineering standards.

Limestone Crushing and Screening Process

1. Feeding Phase

Large limestone blocks are discharged into the hopper by excavators or dump trucks. A Vibrating Feeder then ensures a uniform and continuous feed into the primary crusher. This equipment pre-screens fine materials and impurities to prevent clogging, ensuring a stable and efficient downstream operation.

2. Primary Crushing Phase

The raw material enters the Jaw Crusher for initial reduction, transforming large stones (up to 800mm) into a size of approximately 100–250mm. With its high reliability and adaptability, the Jaw Crusher is the preferred choice for primary crushing.

3. Secondary & Fine Crushing Phase

The primary-crushed material is transported via belt conveyors to secondary crushing equipment. Common configurations include:

  • Impact Crusher: Ideal for low-to-medium hardness limestone. It produces excellent grain shape with minimal elongated or flaky particles, making it widely used for construction aggregates.

  • Cone Crusher: Suitable for limestone with higher hardness or silica content. It offers high crushing efficiency and superior wear resistance, often used in large-scale, long-term projects.

  • VSI Crusher (Sand Making): If manufactured sand is required, a Vertical Shaft Impact (VSI) Crusher is integrated to achieve deep crushing and shaping through the "rock-on-rock" principle.

4. Screening Phase

The crushed material is graded by a Vibrating Screen (such as the S5X series) into various specifications, such as 0–5mm, 5–10mm, 10–20mm, and 16–31.5mm. Materials meeting the requirements are sent to the finished product stockpile, while oversized materials are sent back to the crusher via return conveyors, forming a closed-circuit loop to ensure precise grain size control.

5. Conveying & Stockpiling

Qualified finished products are automatically transported by Belt Conveyors to designated stockpiles or loading areas. This enables continuous and automated production, with different aggregate sizes stored separately for easy sale or subsequent use.
