1.Product Introduction Rotary drum dryer
The RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel) Dryer typically utilizes a large rotary drum as its primary structure. Inside the drum, materials are continuously tumbled and moved forward by gravity and internal lifting flights (paddles). As they advance, the materials come into full contact with incoming hot air or thermal flue gas to facilitate moisture evaporation. The core design is specifically engineered to handle high-moisture, irregularly shaped solid waste, such as RDF produced from sorted and crushed municipal solid waste (MSW) or other biomass pellets.
2.Application Rotary drum dryer
RDF dryers within this capacity range are primarily utilized in the following sectors:
Solid Waste Resource Recovery: Used to dry RDF or SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) derived from municipal waste. By reducing moisture content and increasing calorific value, the material is brought up to fuel standards for waste-to-energy plants or co-processing in cement kilns.
Biomass Energy Pre-treatment: Drying agricultural and forestry waste (such as sawdust and straw) or sludge to provide qualified dry feedstock for biomass pellet production or direct combustion.
Industrial By-product Processing: Drying wet residues or filter cakes generated in industrial processes to facilitate easier transport, further utilization, or disposal.
3.Working Principle Rotary drum dryer
The operation of the RDF dryer is based on direct heat transfer rotary drying:
Feeding and Conveying: Wet material is continuously fed into the interior of the inclined rotary drum via the inlet.
Heat Exchange: Hot air or combustion flue gas (sourced from gas, oil, or dedicated combustion systems) is introduced into the drum in either a co-current or counter-current flow, making direct contact with the tumbling material.
Moisture Evaporation: As the drum rotates, internal flights lift and shower the material, ensuring it mixes thoroughly with the thermal medium. Heat transfer causes the internal moisture to evaporate.
Exhaust and Discharge: Water vapor and exhaust gases are removed by the ventilation system at the end of the drum. The dried material is discharged continuously from the outlet, completing the process.
