1.Product Introduction
The High-Efficiency Biomass-Fired Rotary Dryer is a specialized thermal drying system engineered for processing biomass materials such as wood chips, sawdust, straw, and bark. Its core feature is the integration of rotary drying technology with a biomass-fueled combustion heating system, enabling high-efficiency, energy-saving, and continuous large-scale drying operations.
2.Application
Based on their working principles and structural designs, high-efficiency biomass-fired rotary dryers are categorized into the following typical types:
1. Triple-Pass Rotary Drum Dryer
Featuring a nested three-layer cylinder structure, the material advances step-by-step through the inner, middle, and outer shells. This facilitates a composite drying method combining co-current and counter- current flows. With cascaded heat utilization, it offers high thermal efficiency and significant energy savings. It is ideal for large-scale biomass pellet drying.
2. Specialized Single/Double Shell Rotary Dryer
Available in single or double drum configurations, these units are equipped with evenly distributed lifting flights and inclination adjustment devices. This ensures uniform heating and high controllability of the drying process. They are commonly used for viscous or granular materials such as wood chips, distiller's grains, and herbal residues.
3. Rotary Kiln-Type Dryer
With a structure similar to a cement kiln, the drum is lined with refractory materials to withstand higher temperatures, making it suitable for high-intensity drying conditions. The biomass material is continuously tumbled for uniform heating and can also support partial carbonization or pretreatment functions.
4. Three-Channel (Triple-Flight) Dryer
Composed of three parallel cylinders where material and hot air flow concentrically. Characterized by high throughput and rapid drying speeds, it is widely utilized in the wood-based panel industry for drying wood shavings and fibers.
3.Working Principle
Coal slime enters from the elevated end of the drum. As the drum rotates, the material is repeatedly lifted and showered by internal flights, ensuring thorough heat exchange with the hot air. Moisture evaporates under high temperatures, and the dried material is discharged from the lower end. To prevent wall-sticking, the equipment often incorporates cleaning devices and a "Zero Horizontal Thrust" roller structure, which minimizes wear and enhances stability. The drying process is typically divided into multiple temperature zones (e.g., from 430 C down to 60 C), achieving high-efficiency dehydration while preventing the coal slime from coking or charring.
