Heavy Duty Ore Washer

 

1.Product Introduction

 

A Heavy Duty Ore Washer typically refers to a Trommel Scrubber, whose core component is a large, slightly inclined, and slowly rotating drum. The internal walls of the drum are equipped with wear-resistant liners and lifter bars. Ore and water tumble and rub against each other continuously within the drum to achieve highly efficient cleaning and classification. Capable of handling coarse ore particles up to 230mm, this equipment features high processing capacity, strong adaptability, and a high degree of automation. It is widely used in the pretreatment of all types of lumpy ores, including iron, gold, and diamond ores.

 

 

2.Application

  • Metallic Ore Mining: De-sliming and pre-washing of raw ores such as iron, copper, and tungsten to improve the efficiency of subsequent magnetic separation and flotation.

  • Precious Metal Recovery: Processing of placer (alluvial) deposits for gold and diamond mines to separate heavy minerals from waste rock.

  • Non-Metallic Mineral Processing: Cleaning and grading of minerals like quartz sand, feldspar, and kaolin.

  • Construction Aggregate Production: Cleaning crushed stone and gravel to remove stone powder and impurities, producing compliant concrete aggregates.

  • Tailings and Waste Treatment: Reprocessing smelting slag and tailings to recover valuable components.

 

3.Working Principle

  • Feeding: Raw ore enters the intake end of the inclined drum via conveying equipment.

  • Cleaning and Classification: Driven by a motor, the drum rotates at a low speed. As the internal liners lift and drop the ore, it makes full contact with high-pressure wash water. Clay and silt are broken up and washed away. Fine particles (-40mm) are discharged through the drum's screen sections, while coarse particles (+40mm) exit from the discharge end.

  • Secondary Processing: Fine materials can enter a double-screw ore washer for further precision cleaning, separating the material into +2mm and -2mm grades. The overall washing efficiency can reach 98%.
