Log Washer for High Clay Ore

 

1.Product Introduction

 

The Log Washer, also known as a High-Intensity Agitating Washer or Twin-Shaft Ore Washer, is a highly efficient cleaning system specifically designed to handle high-clay and difficult-to-wash ores. Its core structure consists of a U-shaped trough and a pair of counter-rotating shafts equipped with high-strength mixing paddles (typically arranged in a log-spiral pattern). Through intense mechanical shearing and attrition, it thoroughly decomposes stubborn clay lumps to achieve efficient separation of ore from mud.

 

 

2.Application

  • Metallic Ores: Chromite, tin, tungsten, phosphate, bauxite, iron, and manganese ores containing high levels of plastic clay.

  • Non-Metallic Minerals: Barite, apatite, limestone, and silica sand requiring deep desliming.

  • Industrial Raw Materials: Pre-treatment of construction aggregates, coal, and metallurgical raw materials to prevent mud balls from clogging crushing and screening equipment.

  • Special Scenarios: Ideal for materials with severe weathering, high cementation, or high organic content, such as oil sands and iron oxide ores.

 

3.Working Principle

  1. Feeding: High-clay ore enters from the lower end of the U-shaped trough while fresh water is injected.
  2.  Intense Agitation: Two shafts equipped with spiral paddles rotate in opposite directions. The paddles are interlaced to perform cutting, scrubbing, shearing, and stirring, ensuring that clay lumps are completely disintegrated.
  3.  Separation & Discharge: The cleaned ore particles are propelled by the paddles toward the upper end of the trough and discharged. Fine mud and impurities form a slurry and are discharged from the overflow port at the rear of the trough, completing the washing and classification process.
