1.Product Introduction

The Double Screw Sand Washer is a high-efficiency, large-capacity equipment designed for cleaning and classifying sand and gravel. Utilizing a twin-shaft spiral structure, it offers significantly higher processing capacity and operational efficiency compared to single-screw models.

 

 

2.Application

This equipment is widely used in industries requiring high sand quality, particularly for materials with a particle size of 0–30mm:

  • Construction & Building Materials: Washing manufactured and natural sand for concrete, precast components, and asphalt aggregates.

  • Infrastructure Construction: Sand and gravel cleaning/grading for highways, railways, bridges, and water conservancy projects.

  • Mining & Mineral Processing: Desliming and dewatering of metallic ores (iron, copper) and non-metallic minerals (quartz sand, feldspar).

  • Environmental Protection & Recycling: Desalination and purification of recycled aggregates from construction waste, beach sand, and river sand.

  • Specialized Scenarios: Concrete aggregates for hydropower dams and the separation/control of excess stone powder in dry-process production.

 

3.Working Principle

The operation is based on the differential settling velocities of solid particles in liquid (specific gravity differences):

  1. Feeding & Soaking: Materials (sand, gravel) are fed evenly into the inclined tank through the feed box and soaked in clean water.

  2. Agitation & Separation: The dual spiral shafts rotate synchronously to tumble, stir, and scrub the material, stripping clay, dust, and other impurities from the surface of the sand.

  3. Classification & Overflow: Fine particles and impurities, being lighter with slower settling rates, are discharged through the overflow weir. Meanwhile, clean coarse particles are pushed by the blades toward the discharge port.

  4. Dewatering & Discharge: The washed material enters a dewatering screen for further moisture reduction, resulting in clean, well-graded finished sand. This integrates washing, classification, and dewatering into one process.
