1.Product Introduction Jigger machine
A Jigger (Jig Machine) is a type of gravity separation equipment that uses vertically alternating water currents to stratify materials based on their density differences. This process achieves the separation of heavy minerals (such as diamonds, gold, and tungsten) from lighter gangue (such as sand and clay). In diamond and gemstone mining, it is commonly used to process raw materials collected from rivers, alluvial deposits, or pits, serving as a critical pre-concentration stage in large-scale mining operations.
2.Application Jigger machine
Jigger machines are primarily used in the raw ore processing stage of diamond and gemstone mining and are core equipment in large-scale mines and processing plants:
Diamond Mining: Used to process kimberlite ore or alluvial diamond deposits, efficiently recovering diamond particles from large volumes of soil and sand.
Gemstone Beneficiation: Suitable for processing ore containing high-density gemstones such as corundum (rubies, sapphires), garnets, and zircons.
Polymetallic Recovery: When mining gold, tungsten, tin, or iron ore where gemstones are present as associated minerals, the Jigger can fulfill multiple recovery roles, improving comprehensive resource utilization.
Industrial-Grade Feed: Provides high-grade raw material for subsequent fine sorting stages (such as X-ray sorting or manual picking), increasing the overall recovery rate.
3.Working Principle Jigger machine
Feeding: The ore mixture containing diamonds or gemstones (typically with a particle size of 0–10mm or 0–50mm) is fed into the jigging chamber of the Jigger machine via a feeder.
Pulsating Water Flow: A diaphragm or piston inside the equipment drives the water to produce periodic, alternating vertical currents in the chamber (often following a sawtooth waveform with a fast rise and slow fall).
Stratification Effect: Under the action of the pulsating water, the ore particles become "fluidized." High-density diamond or gemstone particles, having greater inertia and faster settling velocities, accumulate in the lower layer of the bed. Lower-density waste rock and clay are carried by the water to the upper layer, forming a light material bed.
Separation and Discharge: Once stratification is complete, the equipment controls the discharge ports to separately remove the high-density concentrate from the lower layer (containing diamonds/gemstones) and the lightweight tailings from the upper layer, achieving efficient separation.
