3.Working Principle Gold Separation Equipment

• The Hopper & Feed: Raw material is shoveled into the hopper. A "spray bar" immediately hits the material with water to begin the liquefaction process.

• The Scrubbing Zone: As the drum rotates, internal "baffles" or lifters pick up the rocks and drop them. This mechanical energy, combined with water, dissolves clay balls that often hide small gold flakes.

• Classification: The drum features a screen (typically 1/4" or 1/2" holes). The gold and fine sand fall through these holes into the "undersize" chute, while the large, clean rocks are tumbled out the end as "oversize" waste.

• The Recovery Circuit: The gold-bearing slurry flows out of the undersize chute and into a sluice box or a small centrifugal concentrator, where the heavy gold is trapped in specialized matting.
