1.Product Introduction Gold Ore Processing Equipment

 

The Gold Elution & Electrowinning System is a critical component of the gold extraction process. It is primarily used to recover adsorbed gold from loading media (such as activated carbon or specialized resins) and ultimately produce high-purity metallic gold. This system is an essential part of modern gold hydrometallurgy, particularly in Carbon-in-Pulp (CIP), Carbon-in-Leach (CIL), or resin-based adsorption processes.

 

 

2.Application Gold Ore Processing Equipment

Gold Elution & Electrowinning System

  • Gold Recovery in CIP/CIL Processes:In mainstream Carbon-in-Pulp (CIP) and Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) processes, gold-cyanide complexes are adsorbed onto activated carbon. The desorption-electrowinning system is the critical downstream stage used to strip the gold from the activated carbon and directly deposit it as "gold sludge" via electrowinning, preparing it for the final smelting of gold doré bars.

  • Gold-Selective Resin Processes:This system is equally applicable to processes utilizing advanced gold-selective resins (such as Minix resin). An acidic thiourea solution can be used as an efficient stripping agent to elute the gold from the resin. The subsequent electrowinning step recovers high-purity gold directly from the pregnant leach solution (PLS). This process features high tolerance to impurity ions like iron and cobalt, effectively preventing the "poisoning" issues common in traditional resin applications.
  • Integrated and Automated Gold Processing Plants:In modern mines aiming for high efficiency and minimal manual intervention, Integrated Elution-Electrowinning (EEW) Systems have become the industry standard. These systems feature an integrated design of the desorption column and electrowinning cell. This allows the gold-pregnant solution to flow directly into the electrowinning stage without intermediate storage or transfer, thereby minimizing gold losses while enhancing automation and operational safety.

 

 

3.Working Principle Gold Ore Processing Equipment

 

The Gold Elution & Electrowinning System is a critical component in the gold cyanidation process, designed to recover gold from loaded carbon and produce gold sludge. Its operation is divided into two closely integrated stages: Elution (Desorption) and Electrowinning.

 

 

4.Advantages

 

  • High Selectivity and Interference Resistance:The system utilizes gold-selective resins (such as Minix), which exhibit exceptional adsorption selectivity for gold ions. This effectively eliminates interference from common impurity ions like cobalt and iron, thereby simplifying the process flowsheet and enhancing the purity of the recovered gold.

  • Process Integration and High Recovery Efficiency:The elution process (using high-efficiency lixiviants such as acidic thiourea) and the electrowinning stage can be seamlessly integrated or even operated simultaneously. This significantly shortens the overall cycle time—complete recovery can be achieved within 5 hours under laboratory conditions—while maintaining high current efficiency (approximately 50%).

  • Environmental Friendliness:Compared to traditional cyanide-based processes, this system can utilize non-cyanide stripping agents (such as thiourea). This reduces the reliance on highly toxic chemicals, mitigates environmental pollution risks, and lowers the costs associated with hazardous waste treatment and safety protocols.
  • Operational Flexibility and Adaptability:The system is highly stable and shows low sensitivity to variations in the composition of the pregnant solution. Elution and electrowinning stages can be operated independently under optimized conditions, demonstrating excellent adaptability to gold-bearing solutions from various sources, including activated carbon eluates.
  •  Efficiency in Low-Concentration Solutions:This system is capable of effectively processing solutions with low gold concentrations. It is an ideal solution for recovering gold from carbon eluates or low-grade ore leachates, bridging the efficiency gap where traditional methods typically underperform in low-concentration environments.
