1.Product Introduction

A Rotary Drum Dryer for bagasse is a specialized, heavy-duty drying system designed to handle the fibrous, high-moisture sugarcane waste left after juice extraction. Fresh bagasse typically contains about 50% moisture, which makes it highly inefficient to burn and prone to fermentation. This dryer utilizes advanced internal flight designs and high-temperature airflow to rapidly reduce moisture to 10%–15%, transforming a wet by-product into a high-value biofuel or industrial raw material.


2.Application

  • Sugar Mill Cogeneration: Pre-drying bagasse to feed the sugar mill's boilers, significantly increasing combustion efficiency and generating green electricity and steam.

  • Biomass Pelleting & Briquetting: Preparing fibrous bagasse for compression into high-density fuel pellets or briquettes for commercial sale.

  • Pulp & Paper Manufacturing: Drying bagasse fibers to be stored and used as eco-friendly pulp feedstock for paper and tableware.

  • Animal Feed & Composting: Processing bagasse into dry, sterile dietary fiber for livestock feed or organic compost bases.

3.Working Principle

The dryer operates on a continuous, tightly sealed heat exchange mechanism:

  • Feeding: Wet coal is continuously fed into the slightly inclined, rotating cylindrical drum.

  • Cascading & Drying: Internal lifting flights and chains lift the coal and shower it through the hot air stream. This constant movement breaks up clumps and creates a uniform curtain of coal, allowing rapid heat transfer and moisture evaporation.

  • Discharge & Safety Control: The dried coal slides to the lower discharge end. An induced draft fan pulls the moist air out through a cyclone and baghouse filter to capture fine coal dust. Safety systems, such as inert gas injection or explosion relief valves, are often integrated to manage combustible coal dust safely.
