1.Product Introduction

  • A Rotary Drum Dryer for coal slime is specialized thermal equipment designed to dry highly sticky, fine-grained coal washing by-products. Because wet coal slime has a high water content (typically 20%–30%) and a strong tendency to stick and clump, this dryer is uniquely engineered with internal anti-sticking mechanisms to break down clumps and reduce moisture to under 10%, turning waste slime into a valuable fuel.


2.Application

  • Industrial Boiler Fuel: Converting wet, unusable coal slime into dry, high-calorific powder or briquettes for power plants and factories.

  • Coal Blending: Mixing dried coal slime with raw coal to optimize fuel mixtures for steel mills and thermal plants.

  • Briquette Production: Preparing dry slime as a binder-ready raw material for making industrial coal briquettes.

  • Environmental Cleanup: Reducing the volume and moisture of coal slurry ponds, facilitating waste reclamation and site cleanup.


3.Working Principle

The dryer operates on a continuous, tightly sealed heat exchange mechanism:

  • Feeding: Wet coal is continuously fed into the slightly inclined, rotating cylindrical drum.

  • Cascading & Drying: Internal lifting flights and chains lift the coal and shower it through the hot air stream. This constant movement breaks up clumps and creates a uniform curtain of coal, allowing rapid heat transfer and moisture evaporation.

  • Discharge & Safety Control: The dried coal slides to the lower discharge end. An induced draft fan pulls the moist air out through a cyclone and baghouse filter to capture fine coal dust. Safety systems, such as inert gas injection or explosion relief valves, are often integrated to manage combustible coal dust safely.
