1.Product Introduction

  • A Rotary Drum Dryer for slag is robust, heavy-duty industrial drying equipment designed to handle various types of industrial by-products, such as blast furnace slag, steel slag, and copper slag. Because raw slag is highly abrasive and typically carries high moisture, this dryer is engineered with wear-resistant materials and optimized thermal systems to efficiently dry the slag for recycling and industrial reuse.


2.Application

    • Cement Production: Drying granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) to be finely ground into slag cement or used as a concrete additive.

    • Construction Materials: Processing dried slag as a lightweight aggregate for road bases, asphalt, and concrete blocks.

    • Abrasives & Sandblasting: Drying hard slags (like copper or coal slag) to be processed into industrial blasting abrasives.

    • Resource Recovery: Drying metallurgical slag to facilitate the extraction of valuable residual metals.


3.Working Principle

  • Feeding: Wet slag is fed into the upper end of a slightly inclined, rotating cylindrical drum.

  • Lifting & Heat Exchange: As the drum rotates, heavy-duty internal lifting flights cascade the slag, showering it through the high-temperature airflow generated by a burner (fueled by gas, coal, or waste heat). This maximizing of the surface-contact area ensures rapid moisture evaporation, even for dense slag particles.

  • Discharge & Dust Control: The rotation and gravity slide the dry slag to the lower discharge end. An exhaust system pulls the moisture-laden air through a cyclone separa
